Thailand Travel Photography Competition - Thailand: Through the Lens
Stage 1 - Send us four photographs you are most proud of and you could be one of four finalists jetting off to Thailand on a planned itinerary on 25th July 2010. Stage 2 - Take photographs in the undiscovered Central Plains region of Thailand during your trip to decide the overall prize-winner of £500 worth of photography equipment. Itinerary Route 1: Ayutthaya - Supranburi - Angthong - Chainat Competition terms and conditions To enter the competition you should send in four prints (only A4 or A5 size) that you feel most demonstrates your competence as a photographer. Each print must show a different subject and be sent by post. Prints can be from any medium, but the four winners will only be permitted to use a digital camera when travelling to Thailand on the planned itinerary. You must also complete the registration form (to be signed and dated by the entrant). Download the PDF version of the registration form here. Minor cleaning of digital images is acceptable, as is the use of levels, curves, colour, saturation, contrast, cropping and sharpening. Images that, in the opinion of the judges, have been excessively altered or digitally manipulated will be disqualified. This includes double exposure, sandwich shots and fusing more than one image. PLEASE SEND YOUR FOUR IMAGES TO: THAILAND THROUGH THE LENS LONDON, SW1Y 5BL Each print must have the following written on the back: 1. Your name, telephone number and email address 2. The camera equipment used for that shot, lens, shutter speed, exposure time and aperture (metadata). Your entries must reach the above office address by Tuesday 6th July 2010. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over. Any entries received after this date will not be counted. Entrants from UK and Ireland ONLY. All prints are submitted at the photographers own risk. The organisers cannot accept liability for any loss of entries or damage occurring to entries, whether this occurs in transit or while in the keeping of the organisers. Naturally, every care will be taken. The entries will be examined by judges appointed by the organisers. The judge’s decisions on all matters are final. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant deemed to be in breach of the rules. Successful entrants will be informed by Friday 9th July 2010. If you have not been contacted by this time, you have been unsuccessful. Each final entrant will be contacted by a member of the judging panel and asked to supply further information. This will be to confirm: 1. Proof of identity 2. Genuineness of the prints 3. Availability to travel to Thailand on 25th July 2010 returning 31st July 2010 4. Specific areas of photographic interest 5. Equipment used Should any of the four entrants chosen be unable to answer the above questions to the satisfaction of the judges, then the prize will be reassigned to another entrant from the shortlist at the organiser’s discretion. After this process, there will be four finalists who will be regarded as the winners of the first stage of the Travel Thailand Photography Competition. Each of the selected four winners will travel to Thailand and must be prepared to travel on the agreed dates. Winners must have the correct passport requirements for entry into the Kingdom of Thailand (6 months validity remaining on the passport from the return date of travel). A visa is not required for UK and Irish passport holders. The prize is not transferable. In the event that any winner is unable to travel on the agreed dates then the prize will be reassigned to another entrant from the shortlist at the organiser's discretion. The trip will take place 25-31 July 2010. The four winners will travel on a planned itinerary using approved digital equipment. All pictures taken by the four winners during the trip will be downloaded daily by a representative of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The itineraries will be escorted by a local, English-speaking guide provided by TAT. All images may be used free of charge in perpetuity by TAT, associated tour operators, media and any other person/company deemed suitable by TAT (i.e. copyright is shared). The four winners will be free to use their own pictures, provided they are not used for any negative publicity for Thailand or TAT. Each of the four winners will be entered into the competition. They may be asked to select their five favourite photographs from the trip. This will be confirmed on their return. Selected photographs from the trip will be exhibited on the TAT website www.tourismthailand.co.uk and within other media. The four winners will be invited to attend a special reception for the announcement of the overall winner and the prize presentation. The panel of judges will make the final decision upon the ultimate winner. One overall winner will receive a £500 voucher for photography equipment |
